Terms of Service
The agreement between you and CSSkinLab when you use the website, browser extension, or any related service. Read the disclaimers in §9 and §12 carefully — pricing data on the Service is informational, not advice.
Last updated: 14 July 2026
01 Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CSSkinLab website at csskinlab.com, the CSSkinLab browser extension, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
02 Service description
CSSkinLab provides informational and analytical tooling for Counter-Strike 2 items: catalog browsing, price history and aggregation, a trade-up calculator, virtual inventory and portfolio simulation, deal and trend feeds, and a browser extension that overlays pricing on supported marketplaces.
CSSkinLab is not a marketplace. We do not execute trades, custody user funds, or facilitate the transfer of items. Any links to third-party marketplaces are user-initiated; transactions on those marketplaces are between you and the marketplace under their own terms.
03 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your country of residence, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
04 User accounts
Accounts are created through Steam OpenID via Better Auth. One account per Steam user. You are responsible for everything that happens under your authenticated session and for the security of your underlying Steam account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, are used unlawfully, or pose a security risk. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion in line with our Privacy Policy.
05 Email communications
Transactional email — account confirmations, billing receipts, security notices, and similar operational messages — is part of the Service and cannot be opted out of while your account is active. Optional email — the weekly digest, price alerts, product updates, and occasional promotions — can be turned off per category from the Email settings page in your profile, and every optional email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. See the Privacy Policy for details.
06 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest data from the Service beyond the rate limits and access patterns documented in our APIs;
- use the browser extension or any feature to circumvent the terms of any third-party marketplace;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by law;
- upload or transmit malware, exploit code, or abusive content; impersonate another person; or harass other users or our staff;
- attempt unauthorised access to our infrastructure, other users' accounts, or any system connected to the Service;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit our data, analytics, or content without our prior written permission.
07 User-generated content
Content you create or save on the Service — virtual-inventory entries and notes, saved trade-ups, portfolio and loadout names and descriptions, support messages, and similar — remains yours. You grant CSSkinLab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and display that content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service. Where you choose to make content publicly visible (for example, a portfolio set to public), that licence extends to displaying it to anyone with the link.
You are responsible for the content you submit. Content that is visible to other people must additionally comply with our Community Guidelines (available at /guidelines); we may remove material that violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
08 Intellectual property
The site code, copy, design, brand, and original content of the Service are owned by CSSkinLab or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any of it except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by law.
CSSkinLab is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Valve Corporation. CS2, Counter-Strike, Steam, and related logos and marks are trademarks of Valve Corporation. We use them solely to identify the games and items the Service is about, on the basis of nominative fair use.
09 Pricing data & market information
Prices, price history, deal feeds, trade-up profitability estimates, and any other market analytics shown on the Service are aggregated estimates derived from third-party marketplaces. They may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate; market conditions can change between the moment we collect data and the moment you act on it.
This information is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any item. Any decision you make based on the data shown on the Service is your own; you are responsible for verifying current prices on the destination marketplace before transacting and for the outcome of any trade.
10 Pricing & legacy subscriptions
All CSSkinLab features are currently free to use. The former PLUS subscription is no longer offered for sale, and no feature of the Service requires payment.
If you subscribed to PLUS before it was retired in July 2026, your subscription continues to be billed through Stripe on its existing terms until you cancel. You can manage or cancel it through the Stripe customer portal at any time; cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by applicable consumer-protection law. Because all features are now free, cancelling a legacy subscription does not remove access to anything.
Chargebacks initiated without first contacting support may result in account suspension while the dispute is resolved. If we ever reintroduce paid plans, this section will be updated and existing users notified before any charge applies to them.
11 Third-party services & links
The Service relies on third-party providers — Steam for authentication and inventory, Stripe for billing, the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons for extension distribution, and various marketplaces we link out to. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. Following an outbound link is at your own discretion and risk.
12 Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your specific needs, that pricing data will be accurate or current, or that the Service will be free from errors, defects, or downtime.
13 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither CSSkinLab nor its operators, contributors, or affiliates shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or trading opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including statutory consumer-protection rights and liability for fraud or gross negligence.
14 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CSSkinLab and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property or privacy right.
15 Termination & suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if your use poses a security or legal risk, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account by emailing [email protected]. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-resolution provisions — will survive.
16 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision. For material changes we will post a notice in the application or send an email where feasible. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17 Governing law & disputes
These Terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CSSkinLab is registered once incorporation is complete. Until a governing-law clause is published here, the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies to your use of the Service to the extent it provides protection that cannot be derogated from by agreement.
We will try to resolve disputes informally first. Please write to [email protected] with a clear description of the issue and what you would like us to do; we will respond as quickly as we can.
18 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce a right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
